It might be the shortest month of the year, but at East Village Access February is long on activities, workshops, and fun. Here’s your quick guide to what’s coming up. We hope to see you soon!
Valentine’s Day Community Dinner & Celebration:
On Wednesday, February 15, from 3 to 5 p.m., come to EVA, bring your Valentine, and enjoy some tasty food! (And, yes, we know that Valentine’s Day is technically on February 14… but that’s ok – Cupid’s pretty easy-going about this sort of thing!)
Legal Workshops:
Open to all Community Access residents and EVA PROS participants, our popular Legal Workshops are continuing every Thursday. At the moment our focus is on Credit – a popular topic for all. Join us every Thursday, from 2 to 3 p.m.
How to De-Stress with Yoga:
Jenna Ritter will be with us for one more Tuesday in February, from 2.30 to 4 p.m. Jenna has her own yoga instructional video, Six Weeks to Wellness, and her fun, lively class focuses on helping you de-stress with healthier ways to move, breathe, and live.
Hearing Voices Workshop:
On Thursday, February 9, from 3.30 to 5 p.m., EVA will be having another Hearing Voices support group, in which group members share their experiences of “auditory hallucinations.” Come and learn from the insights of others: your voices may be unique, but you are not alone.
CEO Roundtable:
On Friday, February 17, Community Access CEO Steve Coe will join us at EVA to answer your questions and concerns. Steve has been involved with Community Access since 1979, so come prepared to ask him everything you always wanted to know about the organization that EVA is a part of.
Specialized Vocational Services:
Every Monday and Thursday at EVA, we offer a variety of specialized vocational services, including focused workshops on computer skills, and how to do an effective job search. Let us know what kind of services you're looking for: either we can make an appointment for you, or you can just drop by and ask for more information.
Creative Writing Workshop:
Continuing every Monday at 2 p.m. Come and locate your inner-Dickens/Rowling/Grisham/Angelou (or whomever, of course: enthusiasm is what we hope to see most of all!)
