In contrast to our transitional housing programs, permanent supportive housing is not time-limited. A key feature of our permanent housing program is that each tenant holds his or her own lease. In addition, Community Access makes every effort to preserve our original housing model of integrating people with psychiatric histories and mainstream working families.
Our highly trained on-site service coordinators provide support services to residents and are charged with engaging all of the building's tenants on a regular basis. They provide vocational and educational counseling, support for and training in social skills-building, crisis intervention, and assistance in advocating for government entitlement programs.
