The Program Director oversees the provision of supportive housing to tenants.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Program Director to work in our Housing Division:
- One (1) Program Director at 1022 Rev. James Polite Avenue, in Bronx, NY.
This includes responsibility for the general welfare of tenants and assuring that services are provided to tenants within the limits of the program’s mission and consistent with the needs and desires of individual tenants. Essential job functions include, but are not limited to: assuring that the program meets funders’ and the agency’s standards for program census, service delivery, staffing, and record keeping; establishing and maintaining an environment for tenants and staff that is consistent with agency values; monitoring the maintenance of the physical plant; supervising program and front desk staff; collaborating with other departments; and developing and maintaining relationships with community members and organizations.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a commitment to recovery oriented practice; Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred – work experience within field may be substituted for degree; minimum of three (3) years working in supportive housing with people who have a history of homelessness/substance abuse/psychiatric diagnosis, etc., preferred; previous supervisory experience; must be fingerprinted and cleared by the Office of Mental Health (OMH); knowledge of psychiatric disabilities and of substance abuse; demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team; Bilingual Spanish-speaking, preferred.
